Branched Math Placement Directions

Students cannot log-in to math placement testing without pre-registration by their advisor. Please check your UA email first to see if you were registered before attempting to log-in.

Test Information:

You have been selected for our Branched Math Placement Test based on one of the following criteria:

  • You do not currently have any ACT or SAT scores on file or
  • Your ACT or SAT scores are older than two calendar years

Placement in your first semester courses will be determined by completion of the branched math placement test. The test contains 6 levels. The test starts at the lowest math level and students must demonstrate content proficiency to advance to the next level. Each math level contains 15-32 questions and has a time limit of 90 minutes. Scratch paper/pencil are permitted during the math placement test. Calculators are not permitted during the math placement test.

If you do not advance after any level, you will review your scores with your advisor at your Advising and Class Registration Appointment and discuss your course placement. If you are eligible to advance, your next level will automatically load to your account. You are not required to complete all of the levels in one sitting; however, once a level is started you must complete it in one attempt within the time limit assigned to that test. You should complete your placement test at least one week prior to your Advising and Class Registration Appointment.

If you need testing accommodations, please visit The Office of Accessibility Placement Test Site to request accommodations before you complete your math placement test.
