Kannel, William P. Scholarship Fund
The William P. Kannel Scholarship Fund was established in 1989 in recognition of Judge Kannel's forty-two years of service at the County of Summit Juvenile Court and the community service that he and Mrs. Kannel provided during the past fifty years.
Contributions to the scholarship fund were made possible by corporations, community groups, individuals and the Kannel family.
The endowed scholarship provides tuition assistance to a Criminal Justice major of sophomore standing who has a 2.5 accumulative grade point average and is presently working full or part time in a youth related criminal justice field. Selection of the recipient is to be determined by the Criminal Justice faculty in consultation with the William P. Kannel family or its designee.
