Miller Jazz Scholarship

The Miller Jazz Scholarship is a non-endowed scholarship established in 2025 by Lorin Miller and Ann Peterson Miller, devoted parents who are deeply grateful for the exceptional experience their son received as a music student at The University of Akron.

Motivated by their appreciation for the Jazz Studies program in the School of Music, the Millers have generously pledged to fund the scholarship for four years. These vital funds will directly support a deserving student pursuing jazz studies.

This scholarship ensures that future generations of talented jazz musicians at The University of Akron can pursue their passion and receive the same high-quality education that inspired the Miller family's enduring support.

Eligible recipients of The Miller Jazz Scholarship must be enrolled in UA's School of Music, pursuing a degree in jazz studies, and be in good academic standing. The scholarship shall be awarded annually by the Jazz Studies Program faculty.

To make a tax-deductible gift to this scholarship, please visit UA’s . Select “A different designation” from the drop-down menu and enter “Miller Jazz Scholarship” in the text box. Thank you!
